Meet the horses
Our horses consist of pinto (painted) horses, made up of various breeds. We have always had a deep affinity for painted horses, as they are so visually striking and distinct… Within the pinto parameters, we select for temperament: horses that are calm, gentle and brave. The calmer they are, the calmer the wildlife, thus enabling incredible close-up encounters with game on our safaris. Most of our herd come from owners who loved them. Some have a story, like Charmaine. Each of our horses has their own traits, yet they all share the joy of bush adventure…

Our First Paint

We drove through the night for this beauty. She was our first, setting the standard for the rest. Although smaller than we initially anticipated, she strives to please. With a heart of gold, she gives her everything to every challenge.
NAVAJO
Our Second Paint

Navajo is big, she’s comfy and she’s incredibly brave. The first to give us a painted foal in 2020, her foal is a young boy and already bigger than his gorgeous mom. She’s a lovely, solid ride, with a broad frame and wants to stay with the herd..
ELVIS BLUE
Our Gentle Giant

Definitely the biggest patchy we’ve seen so far. Elvis is a softy, with a lovely smooth ride. He did very well in dressage before he came to us. He also loves water and enjoys going for a good swim.
CHARMAINE
Our Rescue Horse
15.3h Mare, born 2010, raised in the bush of Africa.
Charmaine was spotted on Facebook and we just knew she had to be rescued. She came to us with ears badly damaged by maggots. With a lot of patience and care, she luckily still has both ears, although the one is floppy. She is slowly regaining some of her hearing.

Our Gift
15.3h Gelding, born 2016, rides like a dream.
The first time we saw Frosty, we just knew he had to be part of the team. He was not looking for a new home at that time but his former owner warmed to the idea of him galloping across the floodplains of the Okavango Delta and let him go. He loves the freedom of wide open spaces.

Super young, unspoilt, a wonderful quiet temperament and great presence! He is super friendly and loves attention. We have high hopes for this big boy’s future. He is ready to start his education, and we think he will suit any kind of rider as he is versatile and very sensible.

Our Foal, the most inquisitive girl we’ve ever come across.
Filly. Born 2022.
She is Charmaine’s foal – born October 2022. She joined the rest of the herd in Botswana when she was about one year old and she loves the wilderness, always somewhere exploring. The past few months she grew so much, she is slightly taller than Ruby now!

Heart of a Hero!

Ruby is an older lady, suitable for a light adult. Exceptionally well behaved, doesn’t spook. Very safe ride. She taught our daughter how to ride and truly looks after her rider. She did endurance with her previous owner, so the floodplains of the delta are no match for her!

Confident, reliable and oh so playful!

The friendliest and most playful horse you’ll ever meet. This beautiful boy is a true delight! He is as stunning as he is curious, always exploring his surroundings with a keen sense of wonder. His gentle nature and love for play makes him a favourite, effortlessly forming bonds with all the other horses. Full of energy and spirit, this inquisitive horse brings joy and warmth wherever he goes. His balanced gait and gentle movements make every ride a pleasure. He makes each moment spent in the saddle, unforgettable!

Our only palomino paint. Super safe.

Jasper is the epitome of trustworthiness and reliability. With a strong heart, and a calm and steady temperament, he handles every challenge with ease, making each ride an exciting and enjoyable experience. Don’t let his size fool you, this honey packs a big punch when it comes to delivering an amazing ride.
